Environmental Remediation Work

Smith Plant has undertaken a wide variety of environmental works in northern NSW including:

  • Extractive resource site closures and remediation
  • Landfill cell construction and capping
  • Erosion control and scour protection
  • Contaminated soil removal and replacement

Road works

Smith Plant has undertaken and assisted in a wide range of road work projects for local and state government authorities including:

  • Pavement overlays
  • Shoulder widening
  • Heavy and light patchwork
  • Replacing failed pavements
  • Stabilising road pavements
  • Rural road grading and drainage improvements

Landslip repairs

Smith Plant has undertaken numerous landslip repairs following flood damage to local road networks, including:

  • Removal of unsuitable / failed material
  • Placement of large rock forming retaining structures
  • Installation of associated drainage and back fill material.
  • Reinstatement of road pavements

Earthworks

Smith Plant has been involved with a large number of bulk and detailed earthwork projects in Northern NSW and has significant experience with:

  • Import to fill
  • Cut to fill using scraper and dump truck combinations
  • Processing of onsite materials to produce suitable fill material
  • Trimming batters and subgrades with GPS machine control

Vegetation management

Smith Plant provides vegetation management services, including:

  • Trimming of roadside vegetation with wheel and track excavators.
  • Clearing and stacking of over growth on farms and orchards.
  • Mulching and moving of private properties with excavator mulchers and posi track mowers
